Default Transmision

Im am going to put a LS1 in my 98 1500 short bed regular cab truck. It has the 4.3 with the 4L60E transmission. My question is will the LS1 work with the transmisson i have. I have had different answers and would like to know what you think. Thanks for your help.

It will physically bolt up but the PCM won't be able to comunicate properly with it. Get the correct LS1 tranny and save yourself a huge headache!

do not use the 4.3L trans, it's not the same, you'll break something and plus it won't communicate properly. how do i know, http://www.ls1truck.com The install was pretty easy, make sure you get all your stuff together before you start, it help a lot. you can check out my list on the site, it has everything i bought and used for the conversion.
