Default LS1 & T400

Anyone ever use an LS1 and a TH400 in a rod? I am wondering if this combo is possible and also how it would work with the computer.

This is going into my 33 and I have been looking for a 4L60E and just stumbled across some heavy built TH400's

I use this set up in my car it works great! you need to use a 6 speed pcm, the tranny bolts right up, however you have to use a convertor with the
right nose to center in the crank!!

What sort of converter do I need? Also what about a flexplate?

This car will be driven hard on occasion but just crusin most of the time. Not taking it to the track or anything.

Any help you can provide would be nice.

Would you say the 4L60E or the TH400 would be my best choice in a rod?

You use the stock flexplate, and get a convertor built from Yank or Prescion Industries, just let them know the application, as for the Rod the 4l60 would be great with the over drive,it just depends on what you want!

I was told just use a normal th350/400 converter and then just buy the "crank spacer kit" from yank to use a th350 converter behind a ls1.

I have one in my car and this is what I used. gm part #s 12551367 which is a flat dual pattern flexplate, 12563532 which is a spacer for the flewplate and 12563533 which are the bolts for the whole setup. It works perfect and there's no need for any special converters.
