Ok, i know this topic has been discussed previously but I'm still somewhat confused. I'm using a 2000 vette motor and I have a intank pump that is capable of flowing the needed psi. My question is if the aeromotive regulator has 2 ins and 1 out, how does this work. It would seem to me I need 1 in, 1 out, and 1 return. Or do I even need a return at all? Thanks

I think it's the "2 ins" that gets confusing. There are different ways of using the regulator when working with fuel injected engines besides the LS1.
In the case of the LS1 the 2 ins and 1 out is really an in, an out, and a return. Just remember that the bottom of the regulator is the return back to the tank (which you do need BTW), and the 2 side ports are the in and the out. It goes: Fuel pump to one of the "ins", the other "in" (really an out) goes to the fuel rail, the return goes back to the tank.
Adjust the pressure to 58 PSI, lock it down and forget it! Don't hook up a vacuum line or anything (even though the regulator has a port for that too!).

john. i was attempting to "Set" my pressure today with this regulator(13109) but was told i didnt need a return to the tank as a 98 motor isnt exactly return setup? now that im attmeping to set the pressure in my truck(stock vortec fuel pump) its reading ~82psi...obviously way too much. it wont come down by setting the set screw either. i cant figure out what the deal is. my buddy seems to think its because i havent had a return on it, and that 20 or so psi doesnt have anywhere to go...if that makes sense.
we tested the theory and indeed its need a return line, so i officially hate who told me this.
off topic a lil, but will auto meters usually work with stock sending units???
