Fuel line size

Fuel line size What size fuel line should be used for the source and return lines from the tank/pump up to the engine?
For that matter what size lines come on a standard Fbody/Vette?
The Audi has steel lines for source and return that I'd just as soon use rather than running new ones. It looks like they're somewhere around 3/8 or a bit smaller.
I know there has been some discussion as to how much pump we need to supply the fuel (I'm definately going to need one of those!). But that discussion really didn't delve into how big a hose was needed to push the fuel through.

Re: Fuel line size I used 6 AN feed & return on our project (mild LS1), and have used that same size on a 600hp engine. I'd say to step it up to 8 AN at 500hp and above. I don't have any formal data with ratings though, if someone does, I'd like to hear of it.

Re: Fuel line size I looked around a bit and found that 68LSS1 posted some details on the analysis he did under a thread "external fuel pump" a few weeks ago.
He quoted some flows at a couple of PSI's for -08 and -06 lines, but didn't say where he came up with those values.
