Default Radiator hoses

Whats everyone using for radiator hoses. This is in a Second generation Camaro. I heard the top F body hose should come pretty close to fitting. But whats everyone using for the lower hose. Just looking for some part numbers to go looking for instead of not having a clue what to look for to fit.
Thanks
Bill Johnson

Good question. I've got some odd angles to deal with in my swap, so I might have to use one of those braided ss rad hoses. They are so damn expensive, but I may not have any choice. Not sure if I'll be able to mix and match with oem replacements to get what I need.

I came up short in my search. I have a mid-eighties camaro radiator in my Z. That lower hose is a doozy. Found one that was close - but kinked.

What I've done, is get your engine & radiator in, get some coat hangers, and bend up your *ideal* radiator hose shape, noting necessary ID at each end. Do this for lower and upper. Take these hangers to a local auto parts store that will allow you to wander through the racks of hoses, spend some time there, and you should be able to find something that works.

Worked like a charm on the Cobra, and we have some wacky bends on that thing.

Other choice are these hoses from Jegs. They work fine, just that they can crimp and become damaged if you overtighten them.

I like the OEM appearance, so I'd do the regular radiator hoses. Plus they are cheaper, just costs you a few hours and some coat hangers <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Oh FWIW, a new product that is expensive, but sharp is at www.pi-thon.com

After looking at several ridiculous combinations on an LS1 37 Ford we did recently, I finally rotated the thermostat housing to the desired position, and welded a couple of tabs on the water pump for the mounting bolts. Then a nice straight piece of regular radiator hose filled the bill nicely!
Here's some pics of that setup:

What I did was similar to John but instead of using straight hose I used polished stainless steel tubing with the proper bends in rubber. I also borrowed the Gates hose catalog (it gives you sizes and pictures of the shapes)It was a great help as was the Gates catalog for the serpentine belt tensioners.
