Conversion Question (Driveline)
Conversion Question (Driveline) 1993-1996 T-56 will that work with an LS-1?? Im trying to install this LS-1 into an 85 Vette. I would love it if this combo would work. Im not sure it will even fit. I know Im going to need a custom length driveshaft, and Im going to have to cut the center devider (?) where the shifter goes. Anyway, also I need to change the 97 throttle by wire, to the F-body cable set up. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

The LS1 input shaft is 0.400" diferent in length.

There are a couple of ways to go. You could use an adaptor (see the post"https://ls1tech.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=21;t=000376). This was for a 700R4, but I don't see why the adaptor wouldn't work with a T56.
The other way is more expensive: replace the bellhousing, adaptor plate, and input shaft form the LT1 with ones from an LS1. The parts are available thru TTC transmissions ( the makers of the T56) or thru GM.
