A/C Unit Has any one replaced the a/c unit to the top or ferther to the side. My buddy and i are dropping a 2000 LS1 with all the goodies into a 88 reg cab shortbed truck. we got it to seat in the in the engine cradle almost done hookingevery thing up but our biggest problem is that the a/c unit doesnt fit on the bottom. well we figuerd we would ask before making our own brakets thanks in advance for any input. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Re: A/C Unit If you have lots and lots of money, you can buy brackets from Street and Performance.
For my car, the low location (fbody) of the A/C compressor interferes with the frame rail. But on ly by a little bit. So I am "milling" down the bracket (with a sander, no gots bridgeport) by 1/4 inch on either side.
I know JohnB made some brackets for his swap. He might be willing to sell copies. You should check out his site if you haven't already: http://www.montecarloss.com/ls1montecarloss/

Re: A/C Unit I located the AC to the ALT location and installed the PS on the right side head with the ALT on the Left side head. Too much suspension stuff in the way for the AC in stock location.
Machined the brackets out of aluminum blocks and a router. Looks stock if you look quick <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
