heres a update...... i got a complete bed from MAR-K with the hidden handle /flush tailgate....also i tried primeing it, but i found out quick that primer doesnt stick to galvaized surfaces to well..... so thats why in the video its primer black (that i tried to wipe off) so now its two tone with some custom acetone streaks....... anywho.... i got the wiring squared away, and had to test it, as seen in video.... first attempt at starting it, it ran like crap then died... looked at my ground points (only 2 places) and they were both just finger tight...so i tightened them and WROOOOOMMMMM... like half a crank and it ran great..... i just put temperary power where needed to start it....

took the rear fender off to make the gas fill...put it behind the reflector light....what i had to do was
-cut out metal backing behind the reflector
-drill 2 new holes to mount 97 s-10 (or any 88-98 GM truck) fuel door
-cut the fuel door down to size
-fabbed up a mounting plate for exisitng reflector
-tack welded the modded fuel door to the backing plate
-installed and put reflector on

I'm not sure if someone clued you in, but for priming the bed you need an etch or epoxy primer. They are designed for bare metal and galvinized or stainless.

Nice progress man. I've not made much progress on my 68. Other than getting the cab in primer and all the metal work is done on the cab and doors. Long way to go.

That's awesome! You're doing a great job! I have a 68 long bed with a 327/4 speed I'm working on. These trucks have always been a favorite of mine. I can't wait to see your finished product.

Is that an oem style harness? I've smoothed out the fire wall on mine. It looks very similar to your. Keep up the good work!

got the steering column installed. it fits perfect, only thing i had to do was "rought out" the stock hole to fit a 2.25 column in a 2" hole... also started to mount the A/C system got the under dash unit installed and started working on installing my vents.... and the last shot is how the truck looks now (altho dr side door isn't hung yet)
