Default Fuel Plumbing question 92 Camaro/Ls1

Hey Guys, I want to use the corvette filter instead of the more expensive Aeoromotive Fuel regulator. I was wondering if it was possible to put the vette filter into the stock thirdgen fuel filter spot. If so how much modification would it take. Are the vette filters also the quick disconnect style?

Also the fuel rail on the intake, Can i just run a bradied line from it to my feedline on the body and remove the return line completely from the body?

I belive if your going to run a corvette sytlye return system you need a return line. All the 4th gen LS1s have a returnless fuel system because the FPR is mounted in the tank. But i think your saying you want to run the corvette sytyle FPR which is mounted at the rail, and if you are doing this you will need a return line.

The "returnless" system that uses the Corvette fuel filter has the FPR in the filter itself, the return line comes off of the filter back to the tank. There is no FPR on the rail. I mounted mine right next to the fuel tank on the frame rail so it's accessible and I didn't have to run a long return line.

Oh wow i didnt know that, i might look into doing that with my swap then. it works the same as the in tank FPR? just at the filter? does it still require a T-fiiting like the in-tank FPR does?

No T-fitting required. The FPR works the same as any other GM FPR, it's a "demand regulated" system. Besides, every time you change your dirty fuel filer......you get a nice fresh FPR. I got my fitting adapters from S&P for AN lines to the filter. They can sell you the whole "kit".

thats great, on the thirdgen camaros the fuel filter is mounted on the frame not far from the tank. This is where i want to mount the vette filter. Also thirdgens have return lines so it already there. I will just need to cut and flare it, then connect an AN fiirng from it to the filter. Atleast I hope its that easy. Guess I'll find out.....jt

The AC Delco box that mine came in has GF822 on it, and underneath that is 10299146. One of those should get it for you. You will also need an output fuel line. Check the last post in the FAQ to see how I did mine. There is a company called Dorman that sells EFI repair pieces and that's what you are looking for. You can locate the items you want at www.dormanproducts.com, then go to your autoparts stoore to get the one you need.

I have this filter sitting on my shelf.Got mine at a good GM dealer. I ran this set up and when you turn the car off it would drain back.I even tried to use a in line check valve. I now have a complete aeromotive fuel system and it works great.
