UpGrade to LS!

i currently drive a 2001 Blazer Xtreme and would like to exchange the V6 4.2 litre for a LS1 or comparable V8.

Can anyone detail any issues or specifications that i might not be aware of before making this modification?

Any info or assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. I live in Alexandria, VA so if anyone has any additional info regarding garages in the NoVA area that would also be helpful.

I've got a freshly pulled LS1 with only 38k miles on the clock if you or someone you know is interested

I'm located in southern MD. Was pulled to install an LS7.

yeah Earl...I graduated in 1992 with a BA in Mathematics.

i am interested in the engine. I have a manual 5-spd transmission.

Is your engine compatible? also, in what condition is it?

i hope u meant 4.3 atleast thats what my s10 came with. lol. the tranny isnt gonna be compatible with the ls1. besides why settle for a 5 speed when u can get a 6?

You guessed it, SBI.
My engine is in great condition. I am just switching to a much more radical setup and I am moving up in cubes. I also happen to have an M12 (6 speed swap) available as well. I'm not sure about what it would take to swap into an S10, but the LS6 is just the Z06 version of the LSx based motor for the corvette. If you want to discuss, give me a buzz at 248-842-3309.

The engine is located in La Plata, Md. It's in excellent condition. Just let me know if you'd like to come by and check it out. We were getting ready to list it on ebay.

famu, whatll u need for the swap is: the engine and tranny(of course), motor and frame mounts, headers(or 98-99 manifolds), vette c5 accessories(alt., alt. bracket, power steering, etc.), possibly lengthen or shortening the drive shaft, wiring harness, possible changing out of brake booster to an astro van or cav.

We're asking $2k for it. We'll probably include all brackets, accessories, coil packs, injectors, pan, intake, throttle body, maf, etc etc with it.. We're still waiting on S&P to get back to us since we'll probably be ordering all new chrome and polished accessories from them for the LS7 motor.
