I just started on my Ls1 swap into my 59 Chevy. It started as 15 years ago when my dad gave me his Panel Truck and I went about it all wrong. Needless to say IM DOING IT RIGHT THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just found my frame guy and we're fabbing a new frame to accept my C4 Vette suspension (bought it last week). Im buying my Air Ride Bags this week so they can go in at the same time as the suspension and notching the rear frame to fit my 22" rims all the way around. Now im hunting for the right LS1. I've found a few LS1 w/ Tranny's w/ less than 40k miles on em but just not sure what i should be paying. OR do you guys think I should wait a lil longer (to save more $$$) and just buy NEW????

I'm with Tony. When you buy a used package you get a lot of the parts you would have to buy seperately when you buy a crate motor. These motors last a long time. Personally I only drive ours about 3k miles per year and I think that is typical of many of the hot rods. So if you start with a 40k motor, in 6 years you still have less than 60k on it. My vote is shop for a good used package or even better find a complete donor car to buy.
