69 rs camaro T56 conversion I have been wanting to do this for a long time and I have bought a transmission recently. The T56 is from a LT1 car so it should bolt up to my engine which started out as a ZZ4 crate engine but, I have since rebuilt it. The car is an automatic car and I wanted to know if anyone has any experience converting the car. I noticed the first post about a first gen camaro getting a converion. Do I really have to cut a new hole and will that make the placement of the shifter odd? Where can I get a pedel set up for my car? I may buy or build my own crossmember, what do you suggest, im pretty able in the shop and have lots of steel and welders at my disposal. Any help or starts will be appreciated. 
Build your own Xmember, the comp engineering universal one works great for $50, i built one in 2 hrs that looks great, the T56 from a LT1 will bolt up, although i believe you need to use the LT1 flywheel, yes you'll have to punch out a new hole for the shifter, it's actually in a better position then it was... I didnt weld a plate over the old hole- I sealed in a plate so it can all be put back. Someone will help out with the exact T56 conversion (correct flywheel, slave, etc..), Tyler at T56kit.com can hook you up with everything you need, (proper Xmember, master cylinder bracket, etc etc..) he's probably the most knowledgeable about the "just T56" swap..
