The T5 is a TERRIBLE transmission. I've taken them apart to work on them. They are TINY inside. WEAK. WEAK. WEAK. Why weren't they offered behind L98's in third gens? oh yeah, they couldn't take the L98 powah. LOL. I would never consider putting a T5 behind anything but a 305.
And as for Ford 8.8's... Yeah, there are a few out there under F-bodies, but from most of them that I've read about, they end up failing. I wouldn't trust those either. Go browse the gear & axle forum. I think you'll change your mind.
Sometimes you can skimp and save a buck. But I wouldn't try to do it with a T5 or an 8.8. Talk about hitching your cart to a losing horse...

Seems like a good price, is that enough gear. Will that really handle 7, 8 second 1/4 passes. Also when I do a 5-lug conversion I will get axles anyway. Thanks
