Default Third gen LSx motor mounts-help guys!

I am ready to order the carshop swap plates for my LQ4 swap. Will these accept
my IROC mounts? I am already running the energy suspension poly motor mounts
on the SBC and hopefully I can reuse them. How did you guys do it?

are you using the clamshell type or the old 3 bolt to the block, 1 bolt through the frame type? I'm not familiar with the 3rdgen mounts. if they're clamshell, I think they won't work. They work with these...

I am using the clamshell type as they come on 3rd gens from the factory. I am not sure if I will have to get the 3 bolt style mounts or not. I have to check out
Hawks mounts-may be for 3rd gens?

Does that fit all LSx blocks or only F-body's? My LQ4 truck motor still has the motor mounts on it-think it will work? By the way how much are those mounts from spohn

I dont see why they wouldnt work with the clamshell mounts if the blocks are the same. Think about it, if the clamshell and 3-bolt mounts will bolt to the same block, why wouldnt the adapter plates work? does anyone have pictures of a TPI style block? Are they the same as normal SBC's?

All pre-genIII v8 mounts bolted to the block the same. You need the adapter mounts from spohn or hawks and the lsx block mounts to bolt in the lq4. One thing I have noticed is that the iroc frame mounts look a lot like the lsx block mounts...I dont have both to compare though.

i modified my traditional SBC solid mounts.
buddy of mine welded a plate to them, then holes were drilled to bolt to the block.
i actually set my motor back about 1-1.5" after it was all done.

Wow TJ I did'nt realize we had room to move the motor back that far! Did this require any extensive fabrication other then driveshaft/trans x-member? I assume everything clears the trans tunnel?

So I guess I will go with the Carshop adapters-watching s&p set on E-bay now.

only problem i see is the motor is gonna have to come out to change the tranny or converter.
the tranny bolts are right on the firewall now.
dunno if it helped or hurt me, but at the time i had a buddy and a welder and i was running out of beer.
