aren't your friends on www.newcougar.org ??Anyways. Although i will not get into an argument among which engine outruns which engine and what makes more stock for stock. I have respect for any and every engine. I lose respect to the people who build them up and think they are the **** and own everything on the street. A true enthusiast will give respect where it's due. I can see where you guys get the whole Supra 2jz vs LS1 thing mixed up because there are tons of dick head cocky supra owners. But then again there's those cocky guys with ls1's that think they're unstoppable after slapping some basic boltons and nitrous on it. Any car can be a sleeper. You just have to know how to build one to be one. and the car that you would least expect to fly right by you in a nicely modded engine.
But what do i know? i just lurk around. And i try to make the best out of my LT1.

2JZ's can make 2500HP EASY.
And still run 13's @ 200MPH
Almost every Supra owner throws a turbo too big on it just so it can be a dyno queen and make 1000HP. That power is almost completely unusable on the street because it doesn't spool and start moving until 5.5k. Is that really streetable? Granted they are great highway cars but off the line they just suck with those big 1,200 HP turbos. When Supra owners wise up and throw on 2 GT30Rs to make 750 USUABLE HP @ 3k instead of a thumper 101mm that spools at redline I'll start to be scared of supras with my LS1 240sx. Give me a Torquey LS1 anyday.

2^, exactly. Peak hp... do people ever consider torque curves when comparing small displacement/high rpm/huge turbo engines to force fed 5.7 liters ?... let alone whether or not one is on 116 octane and the other is still on 92. I mean I can see an ls1 guy throw on a 101mm, max on on the dyno @1500 then turn down the boost on the street and have a shitty ride so they can boast "1500whp street car".

It's funny that you say.. "you must be hanging out with the ricer buddies" You can't really diss anyone for "hanging out with ricer buddies" As to i have seen plenty of your post to know that you don't understand much or know much but also see what buddies you hang out with. Technically i don't even think you know what a ricer is. The whole "Street racer rules??" thread gave me a good laugh as to why I made the previous post to "www.fastandthefurious.com" Which is where you truly showed your intelligent side. But don't let me stop you. At your age you still have tons to learn. I'm an old fart and i've gone through many types of people and car owners.

ontopic: the 2jz and LS1 have tons of potential. It's just a matter of how you build it. There is no better engine when it comes to any engine. Because you can always keep on building and adding more things to just make that engine 1hp+ more.

Jeez guys......I can vouch for the 2JZ...even STOCK it is a beast..So to me saying it is potentially a good motor doesnt really give it its due. I wont comment on other engines because I do not know enough about them, but the LS1 seems to be great from what I read and have experience thus far.
