Thanks again for the encouragements guys
I`m in need of an electrically operated (push button) handbrake now, as there`s not enough room between the seat / tunnel cover.
Any ideas ?

On The Tree
Down to the scrappies and pillage a foot brake set-up from a Merc ???
Or an XJ-S type between the seat and the door (lies flat when it's on, pull up and press button to release).

Late model S type jags use them. (electric push button)
What about an old skool XJ jag handle under the dash. Pull to apply and pull and twist to release. My old series 1 XJ6 had that.
You have a few options dude.
Or the real old Rover90 with a big lever next to the dash.

c4's do, but also have that deep sill to tuck the assembly against without having it poke up into the door opening.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have looked at a Nissan Cabstar type h/brake, but think I`d prefer a pushbutton one, just need to find one.

Electric Handbrake
2002-on Jaguar S-Type for an electric parkbrake. You'll have to hotwire it, but that shouldn't be a big deal... can't remember if it's a black box module. If it is, it might be a big deal. Hm.
If you do go for a fly-off, Jaguar XJS... or DB7... or DB9, or new V8 Vantage. All of them use the same switch as the Austin Metro. Funny ol' game, the car business...

idea, i know you need the parking brake for parking the stick, ideally, to not be cheap like me and just leave it in gear because you don't feel like fixing your broken pedal... do you need a mechanical e-brake for safety inspection? i know quite a few people who use a line-lock(roll control, or any of the other names they go by) as a parking brake for manual trans cars.

Might try contacting a handicapped driver company such as this one...

They have an electric brake set up that works off a momentary push button. There is a "movie" in the upper right corner of that screen that shows you more of the setup. The control is ugly and looks like its fromt he 80's, but its just a push button. Im sure you could use your own switches.
TRW has a set up that attaches to the calipers themselves. Or maybe they are whole new calipers... I kinda like the idea of this set up better. Less stuff to try to mount.

Looking good Pete!!
