Default Cheapest place to remove VATS?

Hi all, first post. I've been lurking for awhile gathering info for a 5.3L swap I have planned for my Jeep. I intend to keep the engine stock and retain all of the emissions equipment. So to my understanding, the only thing that I need done to the PCM is have VATS turned off. I can't see paying $300+ for what amounts for 15 minutes of work, if that. So anyone have a inexpensive sources?

Thanks,
Pete

Try www.lt1350.com, that's where I got my VATS bypass module. Connect three wires and you're done.

The truck PCM's don't have the ability to just "wire in a module" the VATS system is controlled through the serial data information so it has to be programmed out.
Might try wait4me, I hear they are cheap with stuff like that.

I used wait4me to do my programming, he did a good job on the tune, and had a fast turn around time.

I dropped a line to wait4me, Jesse wrote back that its only 20.00 and 8.10 for return shipping for VATS removal. Thanks for the tip...

If you find someone local to you with HPTuners for the year & vehicle type of your PCM, I'm sure that they'd do it for a beer or two. It might help if you filled in the location information in your profile so we know where you live.

How are the truck PCMs different? The hardware's the same, right?

The hardware is the same, but the trucks use serial VATS, and the F-bodies use a signal from the BCM. Just different programming.
