You can make as much power with a stroked Ls1 or a Ls7 why go through the headache of trying to stuff that thing in there. The amount of fabrication involved wouldn't be worth it. IMO

This is officially the worst conversion idea in the history of this forum.

you would have to modify the oil pan, and either notch/modify the frame rails, or relocate all the accessories.. the front dual throttlebodys will be awfully close to the hood. you may endup having to put some kind of fiberglass hump on the stock hood to clear them... air ducting would be a problem too..

it would be hard as hell to make the viper PCM control the corvettes HUD, gauges, ect... your best bet might actually be to use the LS1/2 PCM, and with a custom crank trigger wheel, make it happen.... or get real friendly with a good embedded programmer and have him output a GM serial data stream from a megasquirt-ish device....

to do it nice, it would be very overpriced, with little gain, but ofcourse, anything is possible.
if you want to take out some of the coolness things, and "just get it running" its entirely possible.

That makes no sense when you could just swap in an LS2, LS6, or even an LS7 much more easily. Not to mention all three can easily make just as much or more power than a Viper V10.

I know there are some people who do these kinds of swaps for show cars and such, just to be different, but if you have to ask if it will fit, I doubt you are one of those people

Whats the reason you want to do a swap anyway?? Is something wrong with your current engine, or are you just looking for more power??

Talk about wiping out any and all handling the car would have had... That's a LOT of weight to be adding to the nose

Very interesting idea... but expensive and probably not so practical. Would make a nice show car for the Dodge guys though.

i think a 505ci '06 viper motor in a c5 vette will outperform (1/4 mile wise and top speed wise) chevy's 427ci ls7 in a c5 vette.
