Default Random stuff - Mustang trans Xmember

Took a couple pics tonight, figured I'd post this for the heck of it. This is the transmission Xmember I built for my Mustang. A bit out of the ordinary from most Mustangs, as I'm not using the factory mounts at all. I welded in box tubing from rocker panel to rocker panel that extend through the floor and stop on each side of the transmission. Then I built the removable section that bolts to those "stubs" and the poly trans mount.

Looks slick!

I just bought a 1992 notch 5.0 to do a LS1/4L60E in and I checked your site for help.. thanks for putting it up.

.. is there any reason a modified stock crossmember wont work?

It'll work fine -- but if you look at my pics above, you'll see I tucked a pair of 3" in/out high-flow cats right on the ends of my long tubes. That wouldn't be possible with the factory mount, so out came the air chisel

Most everyone else who has done this conversion has used the stock crossmember I believe. I just gotta be different...
