th400 behind a ls1
th400 behind a ls1 What is needed to run a ls1 with a th400? I have tried searching and not found any good info. This is going in a prostreet 67 firebird with a 427 C5R Block and C5R Heads. What am I going to need to make this a consistant setup?
................ uh not too much just a converter for it and it bolts straight up with the exception of one bolt and also a lokar dip stick. A M6 tune if your still using the stock computer but for some reason I doubt it.

ok i just went through this. lq9's have 2 different flanges on crank 1 is thinner than the other. i had the the thick one and with that flange and a dual bolt pattern sfi flexplate a th400 converter. everything bolts right up. if you have the thinner flange then your going to need an adapter (basically a $100 spacer and maybe drill the flexplate (hughes has all the stuff)

........ Your buying a converter for it they will build it accordingly. At least California performance transmissons did formerly art carr. Just tell them what you have. See if they can build it accordingly.

But if you are ordering one, it would make more sense to have it setup for you..
