ls1 on rx-7

ls1 on rx-7 hello guys
first of all thank you for a great site that is full of great information.
i have an 81 mazda rx-7 .
my rx-7 have an rb20det engine and i am looking for more powerfull engine so i have 2 engines to think about and i need your help comparing these engine, thay are 2jz-gte and ls1.
how much an ls1 wieght? i ll start by comparing the wieght thank you guys

The LS1 is lighter. Its all aluminum Where I think the 2jz has a iron block. Someone please confirm. Depending on what year ls1 you get it may or may not have as much power as the 2jz. But it definately has more torque and has more potential because of the bigger engine. You will have a hard time fitting a 2jz in there because it is very long. If you do a 2jz, have fun trying to spool a big turbo. -Alex
