Default Air Intake Tubing Question

I have a 69 Camaro with an LS1 and need to figure out the air intake arrangement. I want something that looks presentable and was wondering if there is an aftermarket company that makes one for this combination or is everyone just fabricating their own? I would like a polished aluminum 3" tube that ends up in the area where the battery was located i (I've relocated it in the trunk).

Also are their any issues with locating the MAF near the air filter away from the throttle body? Also what about the air temp sender that goes ahead of the MAF sensor? I need as much clearance as possible to clear the electric fan housing so by moving the MAF away from the throttle body it adds another couple of inches of clearance. Thanks in advance fou your input!

Just a suggestion.... If you can weld the aluminized(sp?) steel tubing for exhaust... Get a straight and a 90 elbow and 45 elbow and cut and weld them together. An exhaust shop will have these bends.

Now from what I understand the MAF likes to be in a place with straight flowing air currents. What about mounting them against the TB then from there have your intake tube coming from the MAF. Similar to the S&P method but without the stubby filter.

StuCool had a nice set-up. Just paint the piping black and it will look nice. To prevent having the rubber hump hose... intakehosesDOTcom has some nice sleek silicone reducers.

I was just on the net looking at the intake setup for my car. I will need a 90 degree bends and go into the corner apron but mine will be on the other side. I wanted to go 3" but then I realized the opening for the TB is 3.5". I understand the TB narrows down but will I be okay by reducing and going 3" to the maf to a filter? I'd like to go 3.5 all the way but if I remember correctly I think the TB was 3.5 and the maf was 3". Please verify -Alex

The throttle Body is 4" the MAF is 3.5. In the picture of mine above (thanks!) the hump hose actually reduces it to 3 inches. My long range plans are to flip it the other direction with a 3.5 tube coming from the 90, then add another 90 to head it backwards, then the MAF and a filter against the drivers fender. I have been researching and I think maybe the folks that fabricate intakes for diesel trucks and tractors may be able to bend some tubing for me, once that is done, I will either polish it or powder coat it. If I get it done I will post pictures.
