Went with the post 88 and got the Grand Sport front brakes. I thought newer might have better performance.

Jim -

Congratulations. Looks great.

Body to paint today?.....hell, at this rate, you'll be ready for this year's Hot August Nights. Is silver the final color on the chassis? If so, what color body?

Jim57,

Thanks for the info. I have a dana 44 from a '96, but haven't made up my mind on the front. The post '88 does has improved geometry, I’m just looking at the cost. The pre ‘88s are half the price (but usually twice the miles). From what I’ve read, everyone’s pleased with the Newman product. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

The frame is a modified 57 Chevy with 96 Vette suspension the front end is Car Creations that accepts the Vette suspension and steering. The frame is powder coated silver and will stay that color, the body will be candy black cherry (verry dark).

TurboSam. This is my first time on this site. You were asking about suspension setups. I am just completing my 57 and I used heidts upper and lower control arms, with their 2in. drop spindles.I am also using Wilwoods discs front and back. For a rack,I went with the maval rack and pinion which was designed for the 57 chev.I am also using alot of S&P parts,I have there headers for the rack but they don't fit if you want to go direct from your column to the rack.I have talked to Mark[S&P] many times regarding this issue with the headers, with out answers. The LS1 is quite a bit wider compared to a old smallblock. This is what I did to solve this issue. I welded a suppor block to my frame for the steering shaft and went around the headers. And I had to modify the second tube of the header.Seems to work good but I haven't driven it yet.I hope this answered some of your questions.
