Hey our shop just got a fiat 850 spider donated to it. And the teacher said i could pick it up. Its rear engine and that front trunk space just begs for an sbc. I measured it out and it would fit with some cut and paste. Anyone know how i can either A) mount a diff k member to it or B) strengthen that one. How do i fit a rear in there? It would have to be narrowed unless i wanted some massive tire sticking out. But how do i go about drilling holes for a rear?

I had an 850 spider once. Neat little car, emphasis on little! They are unibody and also prone to rust, mine bit the dust when the driver seat fell through the floor. You would need to build a subframe for it and also figure out where to put a gas tank, maybe in the back where the motor was. It had independent rear suspension with swing axles. Maybe the best way to do it would be build a complete rolling chassis out of tubing then channel the body over it.
