Undertaking my first conversion...
I'm going to start right away on getting the interior swapped over (all black with black Corbeau seats up front and four point cage), new rear end, a new paint job (currently white, going to repaint Oxford White or some other nice white), and tackle the LS1 swap last.
Going to keep air conditioning and power steering if I can at all help it, and would like to put a T56 in for the fun-factor as well as gas mileage. The LS1 will come out of my Trans Am and I'll pull the T1 cam out and replace it with a Thunder CheaTR cam as I plan to run stock manifolds, high flow catalytic converters, and true duals with an H-pipe to keep the volume down but still sound decent, and I'm even going to put a decent stereo in it as well since the factory stuff has long been garbage.
I'm very much looking forward to this swap. This car was actually the first car I ever owned when it was passed down to me at 15 years old after my mother passed away, and it will be built as a tribute to her. She loved that car and she would want me to drive it so it'll be doing daily duty as well as a few fun-runs at the local drag strips and autocross events. Once its built I hope to drive it for quite a few years to come. I dont expect it to be finished for a while as I have so much of the rest of the car to get ready for the LS1 can actually go in, but I'll be keeping my eyes on this forum for any resources and information I might need. Welcome a new traitor to the fold, I know those Ford guys must hate us.
