Here's what I ended up with, this wasn't an easy task converting my harness....but well worth it in the end because I am out only about $50 in materials because my harness came with the engine.

From Brendan (LT1Swap) regarding the pink 12+ keyed wires on the fuse box:

PCM, Coils on 1 15amp fuse

Injectors all 8, on 2nd 15amp fuse

Trans, maf, o2 on 3rd 15amp fuse

The above 3 need to be KEY HOT.

4the fuse location I wire up HOT AT ALL TIMES, and it feeds the PCM Orange wires, battery hot, and feeds the FUEL PUMP relay. 15amp as well.

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _____
PCM & Bank 1 Inj/Coil on one fuse, Trans & Bank 2 Inj/Coil on a 2nd. O2 sensors, MAF on a 3rd…and fuelpump relay and pcm battery on 4th….

I also have PNP and TCC from the PCM. Where do these wires connect inside the body?

Blue connector, #23, gry - fuel tank pressure sensor/fuel tank sender ground. I assume this wire connects to the sender inside the fuel tank. Could I just eliminate this wire from the PCM and ground the sender in the rear of the car?

Default 2005 5.3 underhood fuse block

I have a 2005 Tahoe 5.3 complete harness, pcm and tac module w/pedal.
C1- B11 is empty on my underhood fuse block, anyone else done a 2005 swap, or know the differences with this setup? Everything else looks similar.

I'm planning to use the underhood fuse block.

I believe on a 2005 the connection on C1 is B-12.
See diagram. I'm still not able to read PCM though.

I got a question. I've got a 99 5.3 harness and I've already go it converted just like on lt1 swap. Thing is, that I was thinking about using an ls1 gauge cluster. Which serial data wire does the same thing as the ls1's do? Is it the yellow wire on C100 pin G that does it? Or another one?

Just wondering if anyone in here may know the answer to this?

im doing a 5.3/t56 and i think i have everything wired up... ittl crank and crank but no start... i put testers on the spark wire and get voltage... same with the injectors... i saw that the ckp was unplugged and plugged it in and still nothing... i also tested the orange wire on the ecu and have 12v... well here is the kicker... i dont have vats disabled (i know i know) but it should put out some kinda fire for a few secs or so... but completely nothing... could the vats make it do absolutely nothing...

could there be any connectors that would cause a no start situation... oh and the cmp is plugged in

thanks

Default stock fuse block

hello to all. when wiring a stock fuse block for any truck engine swap, what/how does one wire for electric fans? there are many spare relays and fuses to use, can any of them power up electric fans? my bud runs his lq9/4l60e by the way of a stock, truck fuse block but he has seperate relays and fuses for his electric fans. this may be a long a shot. im just wondering can this be done? also whats up with the starter sloenoid cranking the lsx swap? my purple wire from c1 on the under hood fuse box is b8. keep wrenchin. I love a good build thread.

You can use the extra relays and fuses for the fans. I know I did that on my brothers swap, but I can`t remember the pins that I used. I will try to dig up that info over the next couple days.

Superdad, not sure if Gbody will see your request as this thread was pretty old but you should check out www.lt1swap.com lots of good swap info on that site. Hopefully thats enough to get you up and going.

Hey guys, I am in search of some advice. I'm about 75% of the way through converting my LS harness to stand alone for my 89 Firebird but I seem to have made a mistake along the way and in the LT1swap's guide I thought he said to "snip all of the ground splices out" and I accidentally didn't tape them all up that went to that splice so I am just wondering if anyone would happen to remember all of the grounds that were in these splices. I am in a real predicament here because I'm not exactly sure what I need to ground (besides the main PCM ground wires that come from the connectors)... If anyone has advice it would be SOOO appreciated!! I look forward to hearing back from anyone, Jeremy.

I am in the same boat. Got my car all wired up with a stock truck harness and fuse block and need to know what terminals to use for electric fans. Ive already pinned the pcm for fan 1 and fan 2. ie pcm grounds to relay
