also i have no codes for TAC or Pedal which lead me to believe that the problem is somewhere in the TB area
I'm curious if your using all the wires that go into your tac module? I'm converting my harness and there are four wires that would have went to the tac module from the C100 connector that I'm not using and one of them was a 5 volt reference wire I think.

I'm not sure what to do with these wires and scared it will cause me problems.

Ok I've looked online everywhere with no luck yet and read most of these 5.3 wiring threads. I just got done reading this whole post anf following the links that were posted but I am still confused on some things. I have a 2002 5.3 w/4l60e and I am putting it in a 86 c10 along with the gauge cluster and steering column and A/C (I have both trucks). I am wondering if I use the instructions on lt1swap.com to make my engine stand alone will this still run my transmission flawlessly? Will the motor still run just as good if I remove all the smog and O2 sensors? Any help with how to hook up my 2002 harness to the column and cluster up to my lights/turn signals/rreverse lights/tails/ect...?

I'm in the middle of my swap right now (just converted my harness per LT1swap.com) and here is what I found out.

First, I had Brenden at LT1swap.com reprogram my PCM for my swap and doing so it allowed me to eliminate my MPLS plug on the drivers side of the tranny. I can remove that switch all together now.

I still have to use the large circular plug and small plug (controls transmission functions and VSS) on the passenger side.

He did tell me if my tranny had the double plug MLPS found on trannys earlier than 2003 I think, that I would have needed to leave the smaller plug in but I could remove the larger plug from the harness.

I was still using the vehicles stock P/N set-up and back-up functions, and didn't have to bother with the computer controlled stuff that came from my donor truck now.

He also set my PCM so I could remove all my smog and the rear cat back O2 sensors (you still want to use the main o2 sensors). It won't hurt the functions of the engine, and will help with cleaning things up a bit.

Hey guys, for my TCC switch, can I just grab one off of a newer GM car/truck and use it on my mustang? I'm running a 4l60e trans and I know this switch will have to be used for the trans to work right. So what have you guys done for this?

I'm using the 5.3 fuse box like jeepinpete used.

I used a brake switch from 96 Camaro/Firebird (AutoZone PN DR461).

That being said, you'll want to check compatibility with the 'stang. Ford probably has a different mounting style than GM, so it may not work for your application.

How did you attach your wires to this switch, with special pigtail connectors or terminals?

I've got a stoplight switch like this from a 85 Camaro w/cruise - will this be ok?

that works as well - probably better, considering the larger terminals on it. i just used the small (.110) quick-connect terminals for it. i don't think they had the 3rd-gen w/ cruise in stock, so that's why i went with the late-model.

Here's a link to that one. PN DR497.

Ok I was just a little confused on that part of the wiring. The computer just needs to see 12volts when the brake is pressed. While driving the switch will be closed, correct?

I'm guessing I need to run a 12 volt wire and the purple wire from the PCM to this particular switch. And if I decide to add cruise control it needs to be wired as well. Any wiring diagrams for this particular switch?

I'm installing an 03 gauge cluster into a 97 Jeep Cherokee along with a 5.3L Vortec motor.

I'm about 95% done with the swap but need a little assistance to finish a few things. While reviewing my schematics for the cluster it appears that the gauge lights are powered by the Body Control Module with a 5vDc signal. Is this correct?

This thread is a great read, and has lots of good links to keep me busy for a while. I have a 1996 mustang and I am putting in a 2001 LM7 and a TH400 tranny. I am going to use Hptuners and the factory PCM to control just the engine. Engine/harness came from a 1999 truck. Anything special I should look out for?

I am in a similar situation, putting a 5.3L LM7 out of a 2006 Silverado 1500. have the wiring harness and computer, but all the wires into the relay control box (fuse box) have been cut. Where did you find a fuse box? I've tried all the salvage yards around Tucson, but no luck. And where did you find a wiring diagram??

Thx,

Mike

I wouldn't screw with the factory fusebox (if that's your intentions). I ended up doing mine exactly as listed on this website. The end result is cleaner and takes up less room than the factory fuse box.

^^ looks nice. Why 3 relays? Lt1swap only calls for two.

That's actually the picture from lt1swap.com, mine is similar but has a few more relays for other stuff like dual electric fans and so forth. It's boxed up but I'll see if I can find a picture.
