and what do you mean what little equipment left on it, 1st gens were bare bones disposable cars, the owners were to toss them and up grade to Chevelles or Malibues,
I have owned approx. 35 first gens and I have restored, worked on and owned some of the rarest of these cars. I rebuilt the engine in the #38 ZL1, I have owned two Z10 indy accented hard tops, a Z11 conv, and a 34,000 original mile X77 Z/28 and a 69 RS/Z28 to name a few. My personal favorite was my 69 RS/SS Hugger orange with original orange houndstooth, extemely well optioned car. Knowing what to look for is not documentation and chances are a build sheet in that car would be unreadable anyway. Being a 67 it will be well documented on the trim tag although you can by a trim tag with any info on it you want. I have found one build sheet out of all of my cars I have owned and it was in the dash of one of the Z10s. That car was bought from the original owner, was 100% matching numbers down to the original GM fan belt and still I could barely make out what little was left of it. I agree it looks like a good find, it has the usual rust, any Camaro you find that hasnt been stored its entire life will need quarters and fenders and at least the trunk pan most likely. The rust doesnt scrare me at all on that car, the full replacement quarters fit great and if they are installed correctly you couldnt tell them from the originals. I have a Pro spot welder that replicates the factory style spot welds perfectly. I would suggest finding someone who can do the same, the car is worth the extra money/effort. If it does have the original drive train or most of it I would go back original.

also, there is a reason everyone wants the 69 body style over the 67-68 and I dont have to explain why. Here is a picture of my 69 RS/SS, the car is all original "exept the wheels" and has the original interior and a lot of its original paint.

That is a 67, you can tell by the vent window and lack of side marker lights. Restored or LSx/T56 swap, either way it would be a fun ride . If you don't get it, I sure somebody else will.

1967 SS/RS 350
This was the top dog at the start of Camaro production.
396 and Z/28 didnt come out until late in the year.

I dont see anything to lead me believe its not legit. Check the tag codes. Get the correct ones from a Camaro site. The car needs alot of work. If you are going to do a LS1 swap I would look for a base 6 cylinder or 307 car in better condition. I would want to restore that car to original even if its not a 396.

Must have been Lemans blue, in a lot of ways I personally like the 67-68 better than the 69. The 69 is the better investement car though by far, this is the main reason most of mine were 69s. I also worked at Worldwide Muscle cars doing restoration work, buying/selling cars at auctions ect. this is where I worked on the #38 ZL1. Heres a picture of one of the of my Z10s..

That 67 in the pics is worth $4-7k to the right buyer, depending on whether the original engine and trans are in there. If it has the original driveline, I would not convert it. And if it were me, I'd look at whether I could make money flipping it. If you got it for say $4K, but felt you could clean it up, maybe get it running and driveable, and flip it for $9K that's what I would do.

You can see why restored ones are selling for $25-50K all day long.

I had a 1969 Z/28 with 48,000 miles on the body a few years ago, sold it to a guy in KY who I think was going to repaint it, do a light resto, and flip it.

Dude... If you have the money and it doesn't cost a ton, just buy the car. You can do something with it. A lot of people are hating and saying it's only worth an LSX swap. I love LSX motors, but theres not much cooler then a good sounding carbuerated small block. You can work on it as you want and get done whenever. Would be an awesome project.
