Default Dual post coil wiring?????

Ive seen it done on a few cars now but how... Im talking about using the GM factory dual tower coils similar to grand am's, Gn's, buick's all the six banger cars run em, so whats the trick to wiring them on a LS1 its still a waste spark setup.

I know megasquirt can control those coils assuming you figure out a way to mount a 36-1 wheel and VR sensor. I was going to go that route but decided to stay with COP setup.

explain the 36-1 wheels and a Vr sensor... im a lil lost

A 36 minus 1 tooth sensor is a crank trigger wheel. It can be mounted on the front of the crank similar to a MSD flying magnet style wheel. A VR sensor is a magnetic pickup that is mounted so it can sense the teeth on the wheel passing by as the crank turns. This is similar to the trigger system used with the Ford EDIS, which triggers the wasted spark coil packs. Any balancer mounted trigger wheel on the LSX style cranks needs to be keyed or pinned so it cannot slip and create instant carne guisada. Various ignition and trigger combinations are possible as long as the PCM can read the particular input signal.
