Default Another wiring question? Please help!!

I'm finishing up the wiring on my 78 monza and I have a question. I have a thick white wire that was labeled (Wait4me harness mod) power 12v ignition run. Can I hook this up to the red wire that used to supply power to the hei ignition on the old 350?

Thanks,

Bill

Default wire connection

Why not get out your volt tester or noid light and see if the red wire is hot with the key turned on and cold when the key is off. There are other sources of 12 volt switched power in your factory harness also. They would most likely originate from the side of your ignition switch that is hot when turned on - I didn't want to say that- oh well.

The HEI power lead is hot in the start and run positions so it will work as long as the fuse on the HEI lead is big enough to handle the draw. I used the HEI lead to energize relays to switch on the power for my injectors, coils, and sensors. What size fuse did Jesse say to put on the large white wire?
