Yup, sure did. I bought it from my buddy, who bought it at an insurance auction. Once I get the drivetrain I need (putting the LS1 in my Chevelle), I'll be parting out the rest. I'll make sure to post pics in the Classifieds section once i get around to it.

What is a fair price for a good used low mile very complete LS1... with say... 10K miles... and maybe 30K miles?
Same for a T56...?

She works like a dream and doesn't give me any trouble at all through the abuse I put her through...and the mileage gave me a HUGE discount.
You make a good point. It all depends on how the engine was treated and how much $$$ one saves by buying a 100K mile engine. A 5K engine could be damaged and quit immediately while a 100K motor, if well cared for, can last another 200K, if well cared for.
For me, buying a low mile engine is just some insurance that it's undamaged and will last a long time.
I could be wrong. I was wrong at least one other time in my life, but I corrected that mistake with a divorce

You start paying beyond $3000. you can pick up an entire LS1 car that was damaged.

After all the price posts here, I now know that $4K isn't a bad price for a 12K LS1/T56 that's absolutely complete and guaranteed not DOA (this one also has the LS6 intake). I also know better deals can be found. The question now is... how many hours will I put into finding one of those deals and how much $$$ will this save me?

I went the Schram Auto parts on e-bay route myself. I bought a 2005 Suburban 5.3 with all accessoriies and harness and computer, <100 miles, "verified by lack of deposits and crud inside". Shipped from Detroit to Arkansas for $2400. Bolted to the tranny in my 96 Blazer lasted night after sitting on the engine stand for almost a year. Very happy with what I recieved. Just wished I'd bought the tranny and electronic pedal also.

I also bought mine on eBay but thought about it long and hard. Read the feedback and be careful. I bought the LS1 and T56 for what just an LS1 was going for in Kansas City.

The bottom of the barrel ones would be the ones that are 'out of a '04 Trans Am with only 2000 miles, iron block and heads, ...' Or if it has a picture of a straight six for an LS1. Run................
