V8 Vega guy here too. I had three of them in the 80s.

I've been wondering about my next project ... after seeing yours maybe it'll be a Vega.

Awesome car! I love it!

I was thinking of doing a mini tub in the rear because i cant really fit much more than a 245/45/17.... but i wouldnt be able to do it myself, i dont have the knowledge for that.

Very nice Vega! That car's gotta be quick, don't see many vegas anymore. That first pick is funny with the guy roundhousing the bag in the background.

JP, There are a lot of people out there that would love to watch as you give the same treatment to a Vega as you gave II Much.

It is no small job. Just as soon as you start moving the wheel wells inboard you are into the forward lower control arm mounts. Any significant gains will require a customized rear suspension, at least as far as the lower control arms are concerned.

I know S & W Race Cars sells a kit for the vega to tub the rear section its called a "Direct fit" obviously there is some cutting ect. but that would probably work out pretty well, they come with an instruction manual of how to set it up ect.

And thanks for the compliments guys, and as you can tell from what i ran with the car it goes along fairly well, it could be alot faster if i had some good gear in it(3.08's ) and a better exhaust than a single 2.5'' i plan on getting some better headers made for it and maybe dual 2.5-3'' exhaust exiting the same way.

overall with just exhaust and gears, i think ill be stearing tward a 12.00 @118-119 street tires and bone stock ls1.

Saw your car on ebay earlier this year I believe...

as I recall you got a nifty deal on it....

randy's ring & pinion should be able to hook you up with the gears you need... the 8.2 still has a bit of parts coverage as they came in quite a few cars...

My car ran better with the stock tune than with the hypertech back before the head and cam swap. At the track it was a 2 tenth differance.

i seemed to drop .1 and 1mph from it, but it could be minor. weather difference, shift points ect.
