3rd gen guys COME IN!!!!
Where did you guys put your driver side O2 sensor bung at?? Im keeping the factory exhaust manifold and the cat fits perfectly in the right place. So how did you guys do it. I already have the O2 sensor kit, just need to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks

I`m not a 3rd gen guy, can I still come in? I relocated my O2 sensor about 60 degrees toward the back. DON`T try puttin it in the top of the cat in the hollow space near the manifold entrance, the cat is double walled with insulation there.

The guy who made my exhaust located it on the top area of the cat converter- same as they do on the F-Body Motorsports website. It works...
He had to re angle the pass side cat. He also moved it up slightly for more clearance under the car. This allows a biger radius down to the back.
I hope this helps.

Heres the best pic that I could find on my computer. The factory location is toward the left and plugged with a cutoff O2 sensor (hey I was outta $$$ by the end of the conversion and a real plug was $9, the old o2 was FREE )
The new O2 is toward the back, I just drilled a hole in the manifold, welded the bung on and then drilled a hole in the heat shield and put it back on.

I'll try to take more/ better pics of my 02 location. That pic was taken in the driveway late last night right before I posted. (I saw the thread, ran out to my car and took the best pic I could atthe time) With the car jacked up and in the daylight I should be able to manage a better image.

OK, just finished the relocation of the O2 sensor. Its a really tight fit but it will have to do... I didnt really want to tap into the Cat, cause i just didnt want to give the ref anything to talk about lol. Let me resize the pics. Almost got her done.

Where's the pics??? I'm curious.
Hopefully the ref won't give me any business. I'll be bringing with me the printouts for the f-body motorsports and show the ref this is "how it's done"..

I just drilled the hole and grinded the cast iron a little and then had my dad weld the new bung on. Had to turn the weld on to the highest setting. Needs to be really HOT!!! first time it broke off.....I thought i was going to have to take it to a welding shop. But it works and im happy with it. It is a little tight trying to put in the O2 sensor but it could do it.
Now i heard that your not supposed to touch the tip of the O2 or you will mess it up??? Thanks

if by "it cracks" you mean "people who have looked at pictures of it online have guessed that its going to crack and kill you" then yes... lol.
but if you mean the part itself is known to break while daily driving it... nope... redraif broke an a-arm, but that was because it was a crappy design...
i have about 20,000 miles on mine now.... (damn that added up fast.. lol) no cracks yet, and i did NOT have it powdercoated.. i got it in raw steel so i could inspect it myself...
