what can cause injectors not to fire?

Default what can cause injectors not to fire?

I cant get my injectors to fire, ive been trying and troubleshooting alot of diffrent things.

I got good injectors,
Fuel pump is working(checking pressure when i get my guage on),
Car cranks,
got spark,
Car started for a brief second with starter fluid,
VATS is taking care of,


What else should i check, and what all needs to be connected to get the engine started.

are you getting +12 to the injectors? You should have a constant +12 on one side, and the computer would ground the other side to fire the injector. If you have spark, your PCM is probably reading RPM, so I'd start on the +12 side.

So just take a multimeter and probe the pink wire, and then probe a ground source and it should be 12 volts correct?

Just checked again and they are in fact getting a 12V reading. Whats the next step to diagnose?

OK. looking at diagnostic steps for a no-start condition... here are a few things to try...
some of the things you have checked already (fuel pressure, +12 to injectors)
Do you have any trouble codes?

a couple of other things:
1- it indicates a bad mass air flow sensor may cause a no start condition - to test, disconnect MAF. PCM will default to speed density.
2- turn ign. off. disconnect crank shaft pos sensor, turn ign on, check voltage. does it have 12V? do the same with camshaft position sensor.
2- possible faulty crank or cam position sensors.

will a bad MAF cause a RPM drop,( ex. reach 3500rom and then drops)

Well dude, last time you posted on this same problem you got advice to handle VATS at the PCM instead of futzing w/ resistors...

what i posted regarding the MAF was directly from the service manual for a 99 vette

unplug wires from the sensor, put one lead of multimeter to a good ground, use the other to test each wire individually. One of them should be +12.
