LS1 in 84 Corvette I am getting ready to drop a Ls1 out of a 99 TA into a 84 Corvette and I just wanted to see if there was anyone else that has attempted this. I did a search on it and came up with very little so I fugured that if I brought it up than mabee...
I will be using a 4l60e transmission and all of the stock computer parts from the LS1. I figured it best to use all of the Vette accessories as they would work bettter with the car.
Any thoughts?

Well my Ls1 just arrived tonight!! I will be pulling the engine and tranny out of the vette and putting a 4l60e behind the Ls1. I think I bought the wrong 4l60e however, Going to pick it up on Wednesday. I appears to have the LT1 style bell housing. Not sure if I can make it work. Any info, pics, tips etc you can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I will try to keep this Thread updated as much as possible as the project progresses!!
It really is a VERY easy swap. I weighed my car bone stock with the iron headed TPI and then after with the swap done /w ls1 th350 and i dropped about 300 lbs total....car weighed 2800 after swap /w prostars on it..

Look on the corvetteforum.com in the C4 tech section. I have a swap with a LSx engine and a LT1 style 4L60E. They will mate... but you need a custom convertor. My post (1991 vert with 6.0....) is in there and has links to tons of pictures. Most of your questions can be answered there.
