Default LS1 Notch(PICS)

A couple of people have been asking lots of question about my install from my random posts here and there so I thought id start a thread.

Thats my swap in a picture diary. Dont mind the jumper wires hangin around those have since been cleaned up. Other then the tilton resevour being rigged with a ziptie the car is pretty much done. Here's a list of some of the parts and things need to get the thing in.

99 LS1 6-speed and PCM
PA-Racing K-member coilovers and a-arms.
Custom PS line.
Tilton Master for clutch.
SN95 electric fan turned on by ls1 pcm.
Modified oil pan to clear k-member.
custom motormount adapters.
Guages

And those are some of the basics. I have a complete list of all the little things and their prices but I dont want to type in all that stuff. Just add $2000 to whatever you think that list coss and your probably in the ballpark.

And thats it.
Dan.

very nice work, the LS1 looks right at home in that notch. What other plans do you have for this car?

A little more suspension stuff is in the works for this car. It will primarily be daily drivin with some road coarse action. Although a 150shot will be added for some fun at the strip. And probably a cam too.

Looks great…the pics help a lot!

Is there anyway to get the stock gauges to work? I was thinking of just using stock gauges plus an aftermarket tach with shiftlight.

As said, that Ls1 looks right at home in there!

I like mustangs and my trans am, always been a fan of both, but you definetly have the best of both worlds. The good 8.8 rear end( a whole lot better tahn a damn 7.5 10 bolt), the good transmission, a lighter more powerful motor, and personally i prefer the upper/ lower control arm set up in the rear of a mustang over the torque arm panard rod set up on the f-bodies.
Nice conversion.

I think the panel can be easily purchased with or without the gauges in any configuration...i can't remember from where though. Either way, definitely a very nice set-up.

I got mine from mc machine. I dont care for the florida50 ones plus they are expensive. There prices on the site arn't what they charge either.

The mc machine one is aluminum and has the turn signal lights integrated into it. I know the picture doesn't show but it looks like the factory turn signal lights, oil, chack engine ext. The florida50 only has lightbulbs representing those things.

I'm glad to see that it can be done, now to figure out how it can be done by me!

EDIT: Are your headers MAC or BBKs modified with the LSX flange? And would a pic of the clutch master install be too much to ask?

I'm still

The headers ar mac 351 swap headers. I put ls1 flanges on them. And although people have said that they will fit, the passenger can be slipped on without raising or moving the motor. The drivers side needs every tube either cut or tweaked to clear the steering shaft.

And no dice on the pics for the clutch master. There is no way ill be able to get a worthwhile pic. And there's no way im taking the dash out to get a good pic. Sorry.

Just use a turbocoupe pedals and immitate the factory design of the turbocoupe and everything will work.

never mind , i found it.
if any of you guys had a choise , which one will you go with?
it almost seems that the mc machine one needs the original cluster housing ( the black plastic that surrounds the circuit board) to be cut up and used.
