shifter for 4l60e???????
i finally got a 01 ls1 w/4l60e bought for my s10 now i need a shifter.. what is everyone else using???? i didnt know if i bought a shifter for a 700r4 if that would work since they are both 4 speed auto's....any help apreciated thanks

what year and what motor/ trans was in your truck stock because if its a 96-up and the 4.3/4l60E combo the factory one will work or if it was the 2.2 with an auto you can get the 4l60e cable n it'll work too otherwise the route i was going to go is get the floor shifter console from a blazer a. because it looks better than a colum shift and b. its more functional also what are you going for i.e. stock looking or race ready

the truck was a 5speed stock the motor/tranny is an 01 and it is comeing with shifter and cable i just didnt know if there was an aftermarket like the hurst quarter stick i could use i am goin for stock look other then wheels and hood..i have hidden everything i have put on the inside of the truck so far i like the sleeper look...thanks for the input and anymore would be greatfull..thanks again

I'm using a hurst quarter stick in my swap. from what i understand, any shifter for a 700r4 will work.
the stock F-body shifter has a ingition lockout(anti-theft) and a brake pedal louckout(prevents shifting out of park w/o brake depressed).
the wires going to the stock F-body shifter are park/nuetral position, backup lights, and a safety for the hatch (doesn't let you open it if your're in gear).
