Default weld up header kit

Does anyone offer a weld up header kit for an ls1? I read a while back that speedway motors was going to but I dont see it listed. I tried big block headers on my 71 Blazer and they are going to need a lot of work. I figure if im going to do that much work it would be easier to start with a kit.

I talked to Stainless Works about this very thing last week. They told me they thought headers from a 67-69 camaro with an LS1 would work. They were kind enough to give me some measurements and from the looks of the measurments they might be right. I'm seriously considering ordering a set on Monday. They did tell me that I could send them back if they didn't work minus the shipping (if I don't scratch them test fitting them).

I did also find a company that does sell weld up kits also, if you want PM me and I'll send you the link to their site.

Default header kit

I bought the ubends and jbends and collectors from Schoenfeld headers. The flanges from GMPP and am going to try tig welding them up myself. If they come out nice, I'll have them ceramic coated. The tubing is 13/4 inch 16 gauge, 3/8 inch flanges with 13/4 inch ports. About $270 in parts. Just practicing my tig skills building the motormounts and trans mount and notching my S10 blazer frame for 5.3. Then I'll tackle the headers. Schoenfeld headers is on the internet, google it. Located in Fort Smith Arkansas. You cant buy headers except circle track headers from them, so hope the plug is OK for the parts.

As previously said you can get headerflanges from GMPP # 12480130 and then buy U-bends from Hooker.

I did mine that way:

For those that have built a set, do the GMPP flanges stay flat enough to keep from leaking?

All the headers I've ever made required the flanges to be flat ground after welding to keep them from leaking. Some header manufacturers use a large belt type sander (probably 4 ft between the rollers).

Mine had a very slight warp in them. The GMPP flange is pretty thick. The warp in mine was straightended when I tightened the bolts.

Mine stayed flat, but, they're 1/2" thick so they shouldn't warp.
