Default custom motor mount bushing material

anyone ever make thier own motor mounts and use some sort of ghetto but functional bushing?

were about to start on my freinds 240sx ls1 (the ls13v2.0) and ill be making everything from scratch as im not a fan of cutting holes in hoods for a s13, but im also not a fan of hardmounting aluminum blocks in a car that will be getting a lot of drivetrain abuse...

ive heard hockey pucks work great, does anyone have any other suggestions, or testimony to the hockey puck?
thanks in advance

Just solid mount em. I love my solid mounts...they've been going great for two years and I beat the living **** out of my car.

$2.00 each from Rock Auto, you can get a '75 Caprice trans mount. They have a two hole mounting flange and a single stud on the top side. That's $4.00 for two of them. Can't get much ghetto cheaper than that........

I used the ones at the link below and they worked great. You can mount the motor the way it suits you.

If you want to go with a biscuit type motor mount, simply get the LS6/LS2 Corvette aluminum pedestals (often found on Ebay). Trans-Dapt has biscuits available from Summit for $26.
