4l60e question

why wont an LT1's 4l60e work with an LS1?

I see no reason why the trans would be a problem. As long as it is properly controlled it won't matter if an LS1 or an LT1 is in front of it.

The LS1 got the new "300mm" version. The converter bolt circle is different, and the spacing is also a little different. Solve those trivial issues, and you can indeed run the LT1 version behind your LS1.

You'll notice the bellhousing is also different, but that doesn't stop it from working. It'll bolt up to the motor just fine.

I have seen convertor rings available (maybe ebay) that bolt onto the crank flange ontop of the flexplate that make the LT1 trans work with the LS engine.
