Default A/C in a 73 Z/28 w/ LS1 ??

I've got a 73 Z/28 with factory air and I'm going to start my LS1 swap in about a month. I've got an LS1 from a 99 Trans Am that I'm going to be putting in.

I heard that you need to notch the K-member / engine cradle for clearance for the compressor but I also read somewhere that the motor mount adaptor plates interfere with the compressor??

I was planning on running the Trans Dapt motor mount adaptor plates.

I definatly want to have the air working on the car, who has a second gen camaro with an LS1 and air? How did you get it to work?

Any ideas, wisdom or pics would be appreicated.

So you've physically gotten it to fit with BRP mounts?

How much were the BRP mounts? Did they allign up OK or did you have to tweak them?

Any pictures of your surgery?

Guess it's OK if I hijack my own thread

Marc
If you use the BRP style mount, the AC compressor will fit with the OEM mounts (may/will have to notch frame). If you use S&P type of mount, yes the plates will interfere with the Compressor and you will have to use aftermarket mount for the compressor.

With the BRP Style mounts, you will have to move the engine frame mount as the S&P are designed to use the factory location of the Frame mount.

LS1MCSS,
That looks pretty good, nice setup.

I've decided to go with the BRP motor mounts and notch the k-member / engine cradle for compressor clearance.
