Too bad. I grew up a couple blocks away from them. Went to their racing shop (before Weld Wheels existed) and fantasized about racing with them. They've been around for a while. Hate to see them having trouble.

I am a KC native too and it is a shame. I understand Greg Weld is a stand-up guy. I was concerned about them exploding in size over the last few years, hiring lots of people, buying a new plant...... Maybe his people gave him bum advice.

Yeah, Greg is a nice guy.
Their wheel shop started across the street from an ice cream store I used to own. Started in a small warehouse, which actually back in the 40's, I had heard, used to be a roller rink.
He may have gotten bad advice. Maybe not. Business is hard, and it has ups and downs. It can be great for a few years, and then competition, the economy, or something, can turn it around.
Have you ever noticed how many small businesses open, and then close. Sometimes they seem to be flourishing...then poof. Gone.
It's tough out there. A lot of things have to be right to succeed, and continue to do so.
