tore it down most of the way and pulled off the rod caps. spun 3 rod bearings on cylinders 1/4/6, with 6 being the worst by far. 1 and 4 were still together, just spun around inside the rod end. #6 is straight trashed
i'll take more pics when i pop the main caps off.

lower than optimal oil level for the odd G loads of drifting, starved the pump at high rpms.

Man, oil starvation is a nasty thing. Sorry to hear that happened to you.
When you put it back together you may want to consider some cheap insurance and put in a girdle. You can get one at www.dmperformance.org
He's a good guy and will take care of you. You guys are scaring me a little spinning all these bearings! Good luck with the rebuild.

got a call from the builder today... apparently someone's been inside the motor before because it has Forged Mahle pistons in it.
going back together with an LS6 cam/springs, LPE high volume pump, double roller timing chain and some stronger than stock rod bolts. should have the engine back soon, i can't wait.

update:
got the motor back. the guy that built it video'd the test run.
http://web.mac.com/redstarperformanc...e%20stand.html (must have latest quicktime to view)
put it in the car sunday, drove it last night and it's happy to be alive. tried to drive it to work this morning and i found out the hard way that my battery cable was a bit too close to my pass side muffler and i had a little fire action going on. put it out using my jacket after disconnecting my battery. looks like the only thing crispy is the sheathing on the cable but it sure was enough to give me a good scare. i'll get some more pics/vids up soon and hopefully a dyno this week.
