Hey i have a few questions! What manifolds did you use? I am doing my LS6 swap into a s13!
Also icantdrift are you interested in making me some engine mounts? I got a hinson tranny mount for a good deal, so i am using that, just need some engine mounts made.
Also anybody ever use the painless wiring harness?
I would start a new thread, but it seems all the people i need to see my questions are in this thread.
4 months left here, damn i am going to miss most of the season this year....
Thanks
Ax

Don't quote me on this but I'm wondering if the '97 to '99's have a longer tube on the bottom and curve more on the collector area. When I get these '00's ones that I just bought from a guy then I'll know for sure on that though.
I got my first set of manifolds for the price of shipping which was $18, this last set I got (wanted a spare set around for maybe another exhaust set up) I got for $40 shipped so that gives you an idea of what you can get them for.
HTH!

That link above is of stainless ones. They were only used for like the first two years 97-98 of the C5. You can tell by the weld bead on the side. They are double walled to retain heat to help light off the cats.
Gm went to cast (I think in 99) because the construction cost was way cheaper, but you don't want those (even though they look very similar), because you can't weld them.

tell me about it...i was thinking about putting a CA in my 89 hatch...but then i realized that an LSX would be much cheaper and deliver more bang for the buck

I know this is a little bit of a resurrection, but you guys are using the stock exhaust manifolds from a 97 or 98 C5 with no problems?
I am beginning research on this swap, and all I want is stock LS1 power.
Thanks,
Luke
PS: Atm looking at using Hinson mounts with GTO pan.

That all makes sense. It seems that starting with stock headers and modifying them would be the most cost effective way to complete the exhaust system.

In regards to the mounts do a search for 240sx in this section and you should find a few different options of how you can do your motor mounts. I went solid on mine so you'll want to skip my thread! It's not as bad as you'd thihnk though but then again I don't daily drive my car and haven't driven it too much yet.
