Started on First Crank After five years of working on my 69 Camaro / LS1/ 6 Speed, I finally got to the point of trying to start it up. The engine has been sitting for all this time and I was totally shocked when it fired right up. Two injectors were not working so I tapped them and it smoothed right up. A special thanks goes out to John @ Speartech as he rewired my harness and answered all my questions concerning the wiring via email! I actually drove it around the block to see if it shifted correctly and everything else was in working order...truly amazing! What a great day after all those days and nights of piecing this project together! I also have been building a 55 Chev which kind of explains the long time frame on the 69.
Now comes all the fun stuff of hooking up the A/C, hanging the rest of the front sheet metal, interior, etc., etc. But I feel pretty good today as it passed the most important test of starting and going out on it's maiden voyage!!!

Hey, Great news! Isn't it a rush when it cranks over like that? That grin will be stuck on your face for a while! You have a great looking project, were did you find your intake set up pieces?

Dont you just love the LS1 now!!!! Mine started up on the first try too. Although it wasnt sitting as long...and VATS promptly shut it down...it still fired right up. Your car looks sweet! Those years of work will pay off when its totally done and you can just cruise around with wind blowing through that grin of yours! Good job!
