01 ls6 in a 56 ford p/u... PROBLEMS! my friend bought a 01 vette that was rolled. the people had put a cam in the rolled over vette for whatever reason and couldn't get it to run. so, my friend bought the whole car and everything and put the motor/t-56 setup in a 56 ford truck. he put all the sensors and everything, bypassed the VATS and all but is having problems. he can get the truck to start and idle but once u press the gas pedal it just dies. he seems to think the cam was installed wrong or something. any ideas??? thnx in advance
More info is needed. Will it idle all day if you dont press the pedal. Does it die only when you blip the throttle, or even when you press it slowly? Have you hooked up a scanner to see if any codes are tripped and all sensors are working correctly?
sorry for the lack of info guys... he said it will idle all day long but when u depress the gas pedal it just bogs down and dies, (seems to me kinda like when you choke down a carb and it dies out). he has hooked a scanner up and it is not throwing any codes. i don't know if he has checked the fuel pressure yet. i will get ahold of him and ask. thnx for all the interest guys!
