IAT sensor remove
Hi all,
Is there any affect on how the engine operates if I remove the IAT sensor? Does the IAT cause the PCM to enrich the fuel based on what being sent back to the PCM? my car will be driven only in warm weather. Thanks

You can remove the IAT and replace it with a resistor, not a diode. Based on info from the IAT the computer changes the fuel enrichment and spark advance settings. You can remove it, but I`m not really sure why you would want to, the motor will not be quite as efficient and the sensor does not pose a restriction and should be easy to mount.
Thanks for the response. I am using aftermarket air filter so there is no place to plum this sensor into it. I will have to run it to the front of the radiator and bolt it down. Thanks

Just out of curiosity what type of filter setup are you using? Any pics?
The front of the radadiator should be a good place to put it. I don't have it hooked up right now and maybe that's why my engine doesn't run 100%. I will hook this sensor up for my motor.
On my friend's motor I still have it hanging on the harness. I am just using some cheap air filter from Pepboys. BTW I got my friend's Z up and running today. Here is a video.

Should be done with my friend's LS1 swap next week. Check out page 8 of my homepage. I put all the info involving my friend's LS1 swap on that page. Took me 3 weekends not including all the planning during the weeks.
Here is a picture of my air filter setup.

Have fun
