Default 5.3 into 1958 Chevy Apache Pickup- work underway

Photo links at end of this message. My goal is to have the thing fired up by later October. S&P headers fit in very nicely; the original headers and exhaust were just a fraction too large; if I'd trimmed the frame somewhat, I probably could have settled. But it would have looked like crap. Engine mount is tubular w/ mounting plates from CCP; over the MII IFS. The result works for me, strengthens the front end, fits well as it's a truck oil pan, and since I am working on this by myself in home garage made the geometry of the effort a lot easier. I'd recommend this approach unless you are working on a "show" car; mine is a driver, set up for long distance cruze. I am currently working to install an AC from Hot Rod Air. They have been very good about working with me. John Spear did the re-work of the harness and computer re-program, as I explained in an earlier posting. I cannot say enough about how helpful he has been. In the future I'll post some of the tricks and trials. This site has been a godsend. Millerd
