LS1 Wiring Harnesses Hey guys I am about to stuff a LS1 in my 61 truck, can anyone tell me which wiring harned from Painless I am supposed to use. there is supposed to be one that you can run carb. with.. I also need a harness for the 4l60e tranny. thanks for the help. Peace.

there is a harness that can run a carb, however i don't think it is made by painless. Painless is for if you're gonna keep the efi setup. Anyway, I THINK edelbrock? maybee makes the setup you're thinking of? It consists of the intake manifold and all electronics necessary to fire the coilpacks, makes BIG power too, a really cool setup. Ok, yes, it is definately edelbrock, perhaps you can buy just the wiring, timing setup from them? I would reccomend thier manifold howerver, it makes grea power.

If you are going to keep the 4l60e trans I would recommend keping the fuel injection if you have the computer, injectors, intake. If you add up the prices for the aftermarket trans controller and carb conversion parts it will be more expensive than if you sent your harness to one of the sponsors and upgraded your fuel system to EFI specs. You can get the carb conversion parts and an aftermarket trans control, but it would be expensive and you would not have as good of driveability as if you stay with EFI.
