Hey guys..I miss my LS1... So Im gonna swap an LS1/T56 into my 2000 S10. Does anyone know:
- Which Slave cylinder I would use, LS1 or stock 4.3
- Which pedals..stock 5 spd?
- What radiator will work?
- If I use the 5.3L oil pan does the crossmember still need notched?
- Also I have the stock 1 legger rear end, will the LSD from an F-body bolt into my rear?
Any other general info about this swap is greatly appreciated...
Thanks, Matt

just some quick answers.
use the stock pedals and clutch master.
use the LS1 slave, make a new line to connect the S10 master, and the T56 slave
the stock 4.3 radiator works fine.
so far, there isnt an oilpan combination that doesnt require some notching of the crossmember.
yes, the center section and gears from any 93+ Fbody will slide right into the S10 housing with no mods whatsoever.

I agree with all of the above (from my research) except for the Radiator if you work a 4.3L a little bit sometimes the stock rad will have trouble (from experience) and I've heard it's hit or miss after a swap.

tha all aluminum construction of an LS1 makes it a far superior heat exchanger than the all iron 4.3.

Good luck with getting that oil pan, and good luck with it not leaking.
Do a search about that company around here and read all of the horror stories. Then ask about the 2 or 3 lawsuits he has against him.

Or go the LS2 Oil pan route and notch the top part of the xmember, only other thing you have to do is worry about a hole for the oil drain plug...but just drill a hole for access....or you can even weld a pipe in for smooth flow of oil out of the way.

any rear disc setup off of the same axle for an s10....all you have to do is snag a disc setup off any S10 or S10 Blazer and switch it over...just make sure you get all the brackets and such.

better yet, any 93 up F-body, preferably 98+ also swap right over, and are bigger. you need the disc backing plates, the calipers and rotors. best bet is to try to find a complete LS1 Fbod rear end, and use the posi, the gears, and the brakes.

actually, if you are converting an S10 of later years, 97 Up, possibly even earlier.. if it was originally a 4.3 and 5 speed from the factory, it will have an 8.5 inch rear end and the posi from the F-body won't interchange..
the disc setup will though.....
so you have a stronger rear end, but will have to source an 8.5 posi carrier....
just an FYI....

I have C5 front 13" PBR dual piston calipers up front and LS1 12" PBR single piston rear calipers all bolted on easy some modification to spindles all I had to do was get a bracket. Stops like a **** if interested I can get you the guys number for everything you need.
I bought a 8.5 out of a '95 Silverado $125 strip it narrow it build it for under $1200.

DO NOT BUY FROM LS1 PERFORMANCE PARTS, Steve is a crook I've been waiting since April for my oil pan, mounts, and headers, and for the last 2 months he's been ignoring every last one of my attempts to contact him....
